Hundreds of supporters loyal to the renegade warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar have failed in an attempt to overthrow the newly formed government in Afghanistan. These supporters were suspected of plotting terror attacks against the former Afghan king, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and American targets across Afghanistan. Afghan government officials claim to have found explosives, bombs and other weapons throughout the capital city of Kabul. The warlord and leader of these terrorist is still at large in the Afghan countryside. This is a evil man who is attacking freedom and the newfound peace that is just coming to Afghanistan and I hope that he is caught and dealt with in a appropriate manner.
Evil acts of this warlord go all the way back to the early 90's when he had his men shell the capital city as a possible act of revenge. The Afghan government has not released any information on their evidence against this man and his terrorist supporters but they have said that plots included a plan to set off bombs throughout the city of Kabul. Security director of the Afghan government officer, Mohammed Naseer says, "They wanted to launch a coup d'etat against the government,". Evidence also exists that shows the plotters also wanted to disrupt a meeting in June that will set up a new government in Afghanistan. The leader of Afghanistans interim government was safe in Turkey at the time of the planned attacks. The fact that the war-lords supporters are mostly ethnic Pashtuns may set off a new round of race wars if the interim government and its NATO allies can't keep things under control. 600 suspects have been rounded up and 250 have been accused of serious charges including terrorism. These terrorist activities show the turmoil that Afghanistan is going to have to go through in the future.
